May 20, 1952 – January 8, 2024
Ada Irions Cox entered this world on May 20, 1952 to the parents of Lizzie Will Billups and Willie James Cox, Sr. As a child, she grew up and attended schools in Columbus, MS. She accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined Mt. Zion M.B. Church where she remained a member over the years. Ada was employed with Humboldt/Microtek Medical for over 15 years serving as a Shift Leader and Designer. Her most passionate care was a seamstress, always making sure everyone was "dressed to impress."
Ada will always be known as beacon of light. She always celebrated people in their accomplishments and encouraged others with positive words as they journeyed through everyday life. She saw fit to make sure those around her home always had a meal, their neighbors had a meal as well. Her generosity and passion for people was infinite. In her spare time, she enjoyed dancing, laughter, and just having a great time with family and friends.
Ada transitioned to eternal rest on January 8, 2023, in Columbus, MS. She is preceded in death by: her parents; her daughter, Rondia Riles; her grandson, Tyler Davis; and her siblings: Joyce Cox, Mary Latham, Nettie Butler, Bessie Cox, Twana Cox, and Willie James Cox, Jr.
Ada's memories will forever be cherished by: her husband, George Irions of Columbus, MS; her children, Lorenzo (Geshia) Davis and Amecia (Pastor Grover) Richards both of Columbus, MS, and Aretha (Sgt. Willie, Jr.)Larry of Oklahoma City, OK; her son-in-law, Demetre Riles of Okachobee, FL; her siblings: Rev. James (Maxine) Long, Delores Long-Cunnie, and Sharon (Joe) Wells all of Columbus, MS, and Mary (Walter) Whitley of Macon, GA Sheveta Cox Doss of Columbus, MS; her sisters-in-law: Ann Jenkins and Nancy Mason; and many other family and friends.
