Alexander
Blunt
March 18, 1942 – April 6, 2024
In the final hours of April 6, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, another limb has fallen from the family tree. The angels were dispatched in the transition of Mr. Alexander Blunt from his labor to his eternal reward.
Alexander accepted Christ at an early age at Piney Grove Baptist Church. He later became a member of Hopewell M.B. Church where he served on the finance committee. He attended public school but had to go to work at an early age to help support his family.
He worked at General Tire for 36 years as a Re-Inspector. He was also a successful entrepreneur until his death.
Alexander was pre-deceased by his wife, Betty Rose Blunt of 55 years; his parents: Nathaniel, Sr. and Lorene Blunt; his brothers: Ray Blunt, Nathaniel Blunt, Jr, Eddie Blunt, Sr., Robert Blunt, Sr.; and his sister, Mattie Lou Bush.
His memories will forever be cherished by: his sister, Georgia M. Matthieu of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Bettina Blunt of Columbus, MS; sons: Alexis Earl Blunt and Gerald Kendal (Michelle) Blunt both of Columbus, MS, and Sergeant First Class Anthony D. Blunt, USA, (RETIRED)(Sergeant Latasha E. Blunt, USA, ( RETIRED) of Ft. Leonard Wood, MO; his grandchildren: Kennedi Blunt, Kelli Blunt, Alexie Blunt, Anastasia Blunt, Private First Class Laneisha M. Cox, USA, and Marcus Blunt; and great-grandchild: Paislee Blunt.
Alexander was a very well-known man. Everyone knew that he liked to fish, build houses, and spend time with his family. His favorite saying was "I'm a blessed man. I've lived a good life, and when the Lord comes for me, I'm ready!"
We can go on and on about how great of a man he was, but when you hear the name, Alexander Blunt, there's nothing else to say!
