Obituary

Alma Thomas was born on March 27, 1949 in Brooksville, MS to Jordan Cheatham and Claudine Mithell.

She confessed her hope in Christ and joined Baldwin United Methodist Church. She was united to Charlie L. Thomas. She worked many years in Macon, MS as a store cashier and cook.

Alma departed this life on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital- GT in Columbus, MS.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Thomas, her parents, her sister, Minever Hollins and brothers, Willie C. and Fred Jordan.

Alma leaves to cherish her memories: a loving daughter, Inell Thomas; grandson, Jiffarah (Demetrice) Thomas; great-grandson, Jiffarah Thomas, Jr.; sisters, Pearl (Freddie), Diane, Joyce, Leaveste (Perry), Mattie, Elsa (Eddie), Elizabeth, Mariah, Vanessa, Ophina (Robert), June and Jean (Donald); brothers, John D. (Mary), Will C. (Brenda), Julius, Robert (Trena), Curtis, James and Harold; Bessie Cheatham whom she loved as a mother; Diane Neal whom she loved as a second daughter; sister-in-laws, Jeanette Caroll, Dorothy Hairston, and Edna Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
