Obituary

Anitris Shabrika Hood was born on January 19, 2002 to Anitera Bush-Hood and Lamonte Hood.

Anitris gave her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at the age of 14. She loved God and developed a strong faith in the Lord. She enjoyed working in the Media Ministry. She was a role model and big sister to many young girls that she encountered. Anitris enjoyed school, cooking, doing hair and cosmetics, shopping, eating out, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Anitris was a graduate of Noxubee County High Class of 2020. She furthered her education at Hind's Community College, where she graduated on July 28, 2022, with her Associate Degree. She also completed her Nursing Assistant course at Hind's and later received her certification as a CNA. She was enrolled at Jackson State University, taking classes this semester but planned to return to Hind's in January 2023 upon being accepted into the Practical Nursing Program. Anitris had big goals and dreams of one day becoming an RN and moving to Houston, TX.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, L.C and Gertrude Jones Bush and her grandmother, Cleaster Hinton.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Anitera Bush-Hood of Shuqualak, MS; her father, Lamonte Hood of Corinth, MS; one brother, Lavonte Hood of Shuqualak; one sister, Jamarah Craig of Aliceville, AL; her grandmother, Gloria Bush of Shuqualak, MS; her grandfathers, Curtis (Marion) Conner, James (Maxine) Bush of Atlanta, GA; her aunts, Shereka Bush of Shuqualak, MS; Thelma Roland of Columbus, MS; Melissa Mason, Natisha Conner, Amber Lomack all of Tuscaloosa, AL; Alecea Conner of Atlanta, GA, her uncles, James Bush of Huntington, NY, Jamail Conner, Curtis Conner Jr., Michael (Crystal) Hood, and Terry Hood all of Tuscaloosa, AL; Best Friends, Juan Bankhead and Amber Davis of Macon, MS; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
