Obituary

Annie Will Scott Ross Bell was born January 5, 1947, in Columbus, MS, to the late William Jamison and Mattie D. Scott.

Ms. Bell confessed Christ at an early age at Midway M.B. Church.  She later joined United Christian M. B. Church and Shiloh FGMB Church where she attended faithfully until her health began to fail.

She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Reverend James Ross, Sr.  To this union, seven children were born, one of whom preceded her in death, Barbara Ann Ross Temple.

After the passing of Reverend Ross, she later wed John Bell, who also preceded her in death.

Ms. Bell was educated in the Columbus Public School System.  She attended Mary Holmes Junior College and received her associate degree from East Mississippi Community College.  Ms. Bell was employed at West Craft Headstart and New Baptist Temple Headstart as a bus driver.  She later moved into the joy of teaching at New Baptist Temple Headstart and Coleman-ICS Headstart where she worked closely with her passion of special-needs children.  Ms. Bell worked at Headstart for over 30 years.

Ms. Bell loved cooking for the community, especially the Columbus Police Department and Fire Department.  She was an avid fan of her police scanner.  Against her children's wishes, Ms. Bell would often beat the police to the scenes of the crimes.

Ms. Bell was preceded in death by her brothers, Herman Scott, Adolphus Jamison, Leroy Scott, and her sister, Alma Scott Reed.

Ms. Bell's memories will be cherished by:  Her children, Laurae Ross (Jimmie) Gunter, James Ross, Jr., Earnest (Norma) Ross, Gary Ross, Danny Ross and Catina Ross.  Her brothers, Willie (Debra) Scott, Eddy (Rhonda) Scott, Tommy (Karen) Scott, and Eddie Scott.  Sisters-in-law,  Eartha Jamison and Linda Scott and goddaughter, Angel Reed.

Ms. Bell leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many people who loved her.
