Obituary

Annie Thomas, a woman whose heart was as warm as her embrace and whose spirit radiated joy in every conversation, peacefully departed this life on June 21, 2026, at the West Point Community Living Center. Born on July 29, 1948, to the late Bill and Leola Jones in Macon, MS. Annie's life was a testament to love, faith, and cherished connections.

A devoted mother, doting grandmother, beloved aunt, and loyal friend, Annie found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had an infectious love for fine cuisines, talking on the phone, and the precious moments spent in fellowship with those she held dear. Her conversations, often lively and always heartfelt, were a source of comfort and connection for many.

Annie confessed her love for Christ early in life and was a dedicated member of Glenn Chapel C.M.E. Church, where her commitment shone brightly through her service on the usher board. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her with grace and strength. Professionally, Annie dedicated many years of her life to Johnston Tombigbee Furniture, where her hard work and presence were valued.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Leola Jones; two brothers, Lonzell Jones and James Jones; her beloved son, Timothy Thomas; grandson, Eric Thomas; and her special companion, Travis Jones, Sr.

Annie’s legacy of love and laughter lives on through her cherished children, Rhonda Jones of Columbus, MS and Candy Brandley, of Steens, MS. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Katherine Pippin of Macon, MS, and Bonnie Jones of Louisville, MS. Her memory will forever be treasured by her six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one God-child Jamiya Chandler and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who were blessed to know her unwavering kindness and vibrant spirit. Annie’s presence will be profoundly missed, but the beautiful memories she created will continue to warm the hearts of all who loved her.
