Arthur Miller,
Jr.
April 24, 1959 – February 19, 2026
Arthur Herbert Bernard Miller, Jr., age 66, passed away on February 19, 2026, in California, Maryland. Born on April 24, 1959, in Columbus, Mississippi, he was the beloved son of the late Arthur Miller, Sr. and Lillie Mae Miller.
Arthur was raised in Columbus and was a proud graduate of Lee High School, Class of 1977. During his childhood, he found great joy in swimming, a pastime that brought him happiness and lasting memories. Those who knew him in his younger years remember his energetic spirit and love for being in the water.
Following high school, Arthur honorably served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. His years of service reflected his dedication and sense of duty, and he was honorably discharged after several years. After his military service, he made his home in Maryland, where he built a successful career as a configuration manager in defense contracting with R.T.&T. Through hard work and commitment, he earned the respect of colleagues and eventually retired after many years of dedicated service.
Arthur was known for his strong work ethic and his straightforward nature—he spoke his mind and stood firmly by his convictions. He had a love for football and enjoyed following the game, often sharing his thoughts and opinions with family and friends. His presence was steady, his words honest, and his character unmistakably his own.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Angelia Williams.
Arthur leaves to cherish his memories: his loving daughter, Kiana M. Hooks of New Albany, Mississippi; his beloved grandchildren, Nyjalae Miller-Williams and Zanyiah Williams; his brothers, Dennis (Darlene) Miller and Steven Miller, both of Columbus, Mississippi; his sisters, Catherine Miller and Vickie (Allen) Smith, both of Columbus, Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will remember him with love and respect.
