Benny Will Billups, Jr., affectionately known to all as "Junior," departed this life on June 5, 2026, at his residence in Columbus, MS. Born on December 29, 1948, in Columbus, MS, to the late Nettie B. Clemons-Billups and Bennie Will Billups, Sr., Junior was a beacon of love and strength, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed.

Junior attended school at R.E. Hunt School before embarking on a diligent work ethic that saw him contribute to Phillips Construction and Hardy's Farm. A lifelong resident of Columbus, MS, he dedicated many years of service to Ray Mcintire Plumbing until his well-deserved retirement. Beyond his professional endeavors, Junior was a skilled carpenter, a true artisan who found joy in his craft. In his leisure, he delighted in building things for others, a testament to his generous spirit. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures of watching westerns and the news and cherished the camaraderie of his cousin Jack at the gun club.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Nettie B. Clemons-Billups and Bennie Will Billups, Sr; his sisters, Lizzie W. Billups, Dicy L Billups-Lewis; his sister-in-law, Lizzie Gardner; his brother, Willie B Billups, brother-in-law, James P. Hairston his grandson, D’shawn Boyd; his nieces, Ada Cox- Irions, Joyce Cox, Nettie Butler and Bessie Cox.

His memories will forever be cherished by his wife, Annie Pearl Billups of Columbus MS, his children, Shelia (Tommy) Billups, Connie Billups, Anthony Billups. Antina (Carl) Billups , and Tammy (Jalain) Billups all of Columbus MS; his brothers-in-law, Bobby Harris of Memphis TN, Calvin Chandler of Kansas, MO, Melvin Chandler and Zante Hairston of Georgia; his sisters-in-law, Queen Hairston of Brooksville, MS Mary Braxton of St. Louis, MO, Annie Armstrong of Chicago IL ; and 18 grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Benny Will Billups, Jr.'s life was a testament to his dedication to family, his unwavering work ethic, and his kind heart. He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that will be forever cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know and love him. May he rest in peace.
