Bettie L.
Kincaid
August 13, 1948 – November 17, 2023
On August 13, 1948, Bettie Louise (Jackson) Kincaid was born to Jerry and Mattie (McCoy) Jackson, III. She confessed in Christ Jesus at an early age. She was an active member of the Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church and she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also was a Sunday School teacher at Mt. Samuel M.B. Church for many years. She was a member of NAACP, nurse aide, and homemaker. She encouraged young people to go back to school to further their education. She was a hardworking woman.
Bettie was a dedicated employee for many years. She worked as a laborer many years for Johnston Tombigbee Manufacturing and Ole Country Bakery until she retired.
Bettie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jerry (Mattie) Jackson, III; beloved grandparents Jerry (Fannie) Jackson, Sr; husband Lee W. Kincaid; siblings, Jessie Jackson and Shirley Nicholson.
Bettie and Walter Hairston (cousin) were raised by their beloved grandparents after their moms preceded them in death at an early age. Bettie was like a little sister to Walter. Walter left home and joined the military. Bettie lived in Chicago, IL and she worked as a nurse aide at a local hospital. Later, she decided to relocate to help care for her elderly grandparents. Bettie was united in marriage with Lee W. Kincaid for 46 years. Together, they had four lovely children.
Bettie Kincaid found peace as she departed from this earth to her peaceful resting place on Friday, November 17, 2023. We trust that she is home with her Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ.
Bettie Louise leave to cherish her devoted four children: Kendall Lee (Cheryl) Kincaid of Idaho Falls, ID; Debra Ann (Franklin) Kincaid-LeSueur of Atlanta, GA, Willie Terrell Kincaid of Atlanta, GA and Leslie Michell Kincaid of Birmingham, AL; one brother, James Curtis Jackson of Macon, MS; one sister, Olivia Jackson of Covington, GA; close cousin, Walter (Loretta) Hairston of Atlanta, GA; brother-in-law; Ollie D. (Shirley) Kincaid of Riverdale, GA; three sisters-in-law, Virginia Washington of East St. Louis, IL; LouBertha Kincaid and Rosie Bell Fair both of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren; Jeremiah, Madison, Joshua and Jeremy; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great- nephews, cousins, and friends.
