Jan 11, 1933 — Dec 24, 2021
Betty Jean Agnew was born in Kemper County, MS. to the late Charlie Mosley and Olivia Mosley on January 11, 1933. She
departed this life on December 24, 2021.
Betty confessed hope in Christ at an early age while living in Moselle MS. She and Archie Agnew Sr. married, and they decided to move and make their home in Caledonia, MS. She became a member of Bethlehem-Cross Road Missionary Baptist Church. She later joined Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board, Youth Sunday School and Bible School Teacher. She served as a Mother of the Church until her health failed.
She developed an understanding of the importance for Godly principles that fostered spiritual structure and embraced it throughout her lifetime. She showed that by applying time with the youth of Hopewell M.B. Church, in the Sunday School and Bible School Classes, taught them to form a strong Christian foundation.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Archie Agnew, Sr., son, Archie Agnew, Jr., daughter, Patricia Agnew, and one great-grandson, Jeffery Bone, Jr., two brothers, Charlie Mosley and John Mosley, three sisters: Vera Harrison Bernice Barnes, and Florence Hunter.
She is survived by six children; Joan (Arthur) Danner and Betty (Willie) Wells of Hamilton, MS; Ruby Wilson and Douglas (Marilyn) Agnew of Columbus, MS; Doris (Ervin) Burr of Steens, MS; Freddie (Toni) Agnew of Conway, AR.; her siblings, Billy Mosley of Hattiesburg, MS and Robert Mosley of Memphis, TN.
