Billy Earl Green, a cherished husband, father, and friend, was born on August 13, 1949, in Columbus, Mississippi, to Earl and Mary Green. He peacefully passed away on June 7, 2025, at his residence, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories.
A proud member of Zion Gate M.B. Church in Columbus, Billy served as an usher under the leadership of Rev. Dr. James A. Boyd. His faith was a guiding light in his life, shaping his values and his commitment to serving others in his community.
Billy's pursuit of education was evident when he earned his GED, demonstrating his belief in the importance of lifelong learning. He carried this spirit of determination into his professional life, where he worked at Goodyear Tire and later drove a school bus, positively impacting the lives of countless children. His dedication to his work continued as he took on a role in maintenance for Seminole, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic.
An avid golfer, Billy found joy on the golf course, where he spent many happy hours with friends, enjoying the sport he loved. He also had a passion for fishing, often sharing stories of his adventures on the water, where he found peace and relaxation. A devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Billy's enthusiasm for the game brought joy to many gatherings, where he would cheer on his team with unwavering loyalty.
Billy was married to the love of his life, Clara Green, with whom he shared a deep and abiding bond. Together, they raised 3. wonderful sons, instilling in them the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life, and he cherished the time spent with them.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mary Green, and his beloved wife, Clara.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will continue to inspire his family and friends. He is survived by his three sons, Terry (Michelle) Green, Billy Green, Jr., Lamarolo Green; his grandchildren, Chandria (Samuel) Lucious Harris, Terry Green, Jr, Taniah Green, Billy Green, Jr. Donya Green, William Harris, JaQuan Green; his siblings, Ivory (Annie) Green, Bobby Green, Margaret Allen, Shirley Brooks, Carolyn (Erick) Dancy, Evelyn Floyd, Brenda Green and Linda Lawhorn, a special friend, Joyce Taylor; and a host of other relatives and friends.
