Obituary

Brenda Marie Carr entered this world on February 11, 1959, in Reform, AL to Earnest and Marie Cockrell. She attended and completed her education at Pickens County High School and received her diploma in 1977. While in school, she met her high school sweetheart, Bobby Carr, and of this union two boys were born Edrick Terrell and Johnton Carr. Bobby and Brenda shared 48 wonderful years together.

After school, Brenda began a career in childcare that spanned over 30 years. Brenda enjoyed keeping in touch with many relatives and friends while she and her family traveled abroad. Brenda was just an all-around loving person. She, along with her husband, Bobby, always enjoyed returning to Alabama for fellowship with family and friends.

Brenda confessed Christ at an early age at Elbethel Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Beard in Ethelsville, AL. Her most recent church membership was with St. Paul M.B. Church in Fleming, GA where she served as an usher, deaconess, and dedicated member.

Brenda departed this life on June 7, 2025, in Richmond Hill, GA. She is preceded in death by her parents; Earnest and Marie Cockrell; her first born, Edrick Carr; her brother, Johnny B. Cockrell; granddaughter, Ranyce Carr and brother- in-law, Terry Carr.

Brenda's memories will forever be cherished by: her husband, Bobby Carr of Richmond Hill, GA; her son, Johnton (Tiffany) Carr of Richmond Hill, GA; her grandsons, George Gaines IV & Josiah Gaines; two sisters, Ernestine Richardson, Beverly (Herbert) Williams both of Ethelsville AL; one brother, Joe Petty of Tuscaloosa, AL; one aunt, Katie Brown of Ethelsville AL; sisters-in-law, Brenda Harvill of Columbus, MS and Verda McCoy of Columbus, OH; her brothers-in-law, Edwin (Wanda) Carr of Cincinnati, OH, Michael (Jerri) Carr of Woodbridge, VA, and Tellis (Kimberly) Carr; special cousin, Arthur L. Richardson of Tuscaloosa AL; 4 nephews, 5 nieces, 4 great- nephews; 15 great-nieces; 2 great-great nieces, and 1 great-great nephew; with a host of cousins, family and friends.
