Brenda Colleen Perry was born on March 20, 1958, in Columbus, MS to Charlean Mosley and Sam Perry.  She received her education in the Columbus City Schools. She was a proud member of  the Lee High School Class of 1976. She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and was long time faithful member of Mt. Zion M.B. Church where she participated in the church choir.

Brenda was a lady full of love. Her smile and joyful attitude were a true blessing to anyone and any room she came across. She was truly loved by her family friends, church, and community. Her past time was spent loving on children, and Bingo. She was the president of "Golden Girls" ladies group with the Columbus Housing Authority. Brenda was formerly employed with Sanderson Plumbing, Columbus Municipal School District as a crossing guard, and McDonald's Restaurant.

Brenda departed this life on October 8, 2023 in Columbus, MS. She is preceded in death by her father, Sam Perry; her sister, Gloria Perry and her grandparents, Willie Love Hodges, Charlie Hodges, Pete Andrew, and Ada Perry.

Brenda's memories will forever be cherished by her children: Tasha (Ariello) Carpenter of Maricopa, AZ, Gregory (Lytasha) Perry, and Erica (Toriaeno) Greenlee both of Columbus, MS; her mother, Charlean Mosley of Columbus, MS; four grandchildren, Palar Perry, MaKenzie Williams, Sara Carpenter, and Marshall Carpenter;  1 great-grandchild, Harmoni Carter; her sisters, Patricia Glenn and Daphene (Merlin) Grassiree all of Columbus, MS, Yvonne (Hosea) Cox of North Carolina,  Rosie Gardner of Tuscaloosa, AL, Nancy (Tommy) Porter of Columbus, MS; her brothers, Jesse Perry of West Hartford, CT, Jerry Hodges of Denver, CO, Sammie (Cassy) Perry and Jeffery Perry both of Columbus, MS, and Sammy Latham of Hueytown, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
