Obituary

Castella Williams Young was born 21 February 1959 to Andy Williams and Mary Bell Sanders Williams in Columbus, MS.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She attended Plum Grove School and then New Hope School. She worked at McDonald's on HWY 45 for numerous years and enjoyed the multitude of coworkers that she met along the way.

Castella accepted Christ at an early age at Union Hopewell Baptist Church and later joined Charity Mission Full Gospel Baptist Church under the Leadership of Bishop Bobby L. McCarter, Sr. She served as a security guard for the church countless years and enjoyed every moment of it.

She was affectionately known as "BJ-Betty Jean" by her daughter and everyone else knew her as "Tute". Some of her favorite people called her Auntie though. She loved fishing as well as picking and cooking wild onions and greens (especially turnips and mustards). She will be remembered for just being herself, smiling and coming through the door late, but ready to have a great time with family and friends. As well as helping raise so many children.

Those who will welcome her home- Castella was preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Mary Bell Williams; her sister, Gloria Mae Williams Wells; brother, Willie M. Oliver; sister, Genora Oliver Abrams, and sister, Eliza Mae Williams Moore.

The legacy she leaves behind to cherish her memories: her children, Tashmia (Eric) Williams and Jaleen Young; her sisters, Martha Oliver Taylor and Laura Lee Williams Pippins; brother-in-love, Willie George Moore; bonus sisters, Shirley McGee, Myrtle "Kitty"  Anthony, Diane Gore-Maul, Sandra Conner, Brenda Bardley, and Celestine Gore; grandchildren,  Jaden Williams, Maddisen Williams, Skyis Jones, Erykah Williams, Iyajnah Williams, and Weszavier Thompkins-Williams; great grandchildren,  Jacen Williams and Liam Crews; Castella had some special children in her life that she help reared, Rachel Hollivay, Tyler Beck and Solomon Hill; Her former sisters-in-love forged a sisterhood bond that will forever shine bright throughout this lifetime and beyond, Estelle Rice, Mary Coleman, and Ida Hill; she also leaves a  host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that have memories and will miss her dearly.

Castella Williams Young bid farewell, but never goodbye, for we as believers will meet on the other side.  Keep praying, keep worshipping, keep loving, and above all, keep believing!!
