Charlie "Hot
Dog" F. Williams
March 9, 1955 – October 3, 2025
Charlie J. Williams was born in Crawford, MS, on March 9, 1955, to the late Lola Williams and Jimmy Williams of Crawford, MS. He spent 30 years as a welder and supervisor at Babcock and Wilcox (B&W) of West Point, MS, until retirement. Charlie was known in the community as "Hot Dog." though he never understood the name, but he loved it dearly. He enjoyed grilling out for different functions for family and friends and loved singing in the male choir at his church, Oakland M. B. Church.
Charlie was a member of Crawford Lodge #398 in Crawford, MS. He enjoyed riding along on the 4-wheelers with the Crawford Riders with his Pittsburgh Steelers flag flying high. Charlie departed this life on October 3, 2025. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Williams; son, Maurice Williams; four sisters, Willie Mary Williams, Lola Williams, Lizzie Clemons, and Bernice Robinson; three brothers, Jimmy Williams, Archie Williams, and Henry Williams; and half-sister, Bertha Sanders.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Lesa Williams; daughter, Norlisha (Timmy) Williams of Columbus, MS; son, Deareake (Imeka) Gray of Columbus, MS; three stepchildren, Edward Henley, Samuel McCarter, and Carlesa Johnson; thirteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; sister, Mary Smith of Mathison, MS; two brothers, Tommy Williams of Artesia, MS, and Phillip (Ramona) Williams of Columbus, MS; five half-sisters, Rebecca Dora of Columbus, MS, Lucidell Turner, Mary Alice Farmer, and Willie Dean Parson, all of Crawford, MS, and Cenella Turner of St. Louis, MO; uncle, Willie Ben (Zelda) Williams of Crawford, MS; two aunts, Rebecca Island of Stone Mountain, GA, and Katie Hubbard of Crawford, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
