A Time To Be Born

Clara's life journey began when she was born to Sallie and Featherson Doss, Sr. on April 16, 1935, in
Macon, Mississippi. Her second birth came when she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a
member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Incorporated in Columbus, Mississippi under the Leadership of Pastor Stanley McCrary.

A Time To Die

Clara answered the call of death on October 11, 2022, as she departed life here on earth, leaving
memories to be treasured by all who knew her. Preceding her in death is her parents, Featherson Doss,
Sr., and Sallie Doss, biological father, Alfred Tolbert, husband, Roosevelt Edmond, Sr., brother,
Featherson Doss, Jr., brother, Marcus Tolbert, son, Roosevelt Edmond, Jr., grandsons, Keenan Walker, and Luther Grant.

A Time To Gather

Clara's gathering of knowledge and understanding began as she matriculated through the educational system in Noxubee, Mississippi receiving a tenth-grade education.

A Time Of Labor

Clara's life of labor started as she began raising nine hard-head, hungry children and taking care of her
husband. Later, she became a seamstress at Seminole Manufacturing Company. She retired from there
after giving over 20 years of service. She later re-entered the workforce working for Winn Dixie in the deli.

A Time To Love

Clara loved people especially her beloved husband, Roosevelt Edmond, Sr., children, grandchildren, siblings, church family, and friends.

A Time Of Embrace

Those left to embrace her fond and cherished memories are her beloved children: seven daughters:
Barbara Coleman of Columbus, MS, Willie Frances Whitfield of Columbus, MS, Joyce Cunningham
(Johnny) of Montgomery, AL, Sallie Jones of Columbus, MS, Mildred Sanders (Earl) of Jackson, MS, Linda
Gabriel of Columbus, MS, and Vanessa Walker (Michael) of Columbus, MS: one son: Walter Edmond
(Monica) of Columbus, Mississippi, Siblings: Willie Brewer of Atlanta, GA, Geneva Chandler (Douglas)
of St Louis, MO, Shirley Madden (Gary) Of Detroit, MI, Jean Frasier (Donald) of Huntsville, AL,
Michael Tolbert (Ida) of Stone Mountain, GA, and Alfred Tolbert (Ellie) of Downington, PA, forty-two
grandchildren, forty-five great-grandchildren, four great, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
