Obituary

A Time to be Born
Our beloved mom, Cornelia Glass Givens was born January 20, 1950 in Macon, Mississippi to the late Aaron and Cornelia Glass. She was the only child born to this union.

A Time for Educational Growth and work
Cornelia graduated from BF Liddell High School in 1969. She was a dedicated and hard worker employed with United Technologies Motor Company for 31 years. Cornelia enjoyed cooking, and eating one of many of her favorite foods any day and time of the year; Dressing. She loved shopping and dressing herself up in beautiful clothing and fine jewelry. She had a humorous character and funny way of telling stories and jokes that made everyone she met laugh.

A Time of Service to God
Cornelia accepted Jesus as her Lord and savior at an early age and united with New Hope Baptist church in Artesia, MS. As a member she served as the choir director of the children's sunbeam choir.

A Time to Love
Cornelia was united in holy matrimony to JP Givens on December 18, 1975. To this union two children were born, Christina Givens and JP Givens Jr.

A Time to Die
Cornelia endured a lot of pain while living but managed to keep her faith in God in action. She would often cry out in prayer to God saying "In Jesus Name," trusting him to come take her home. God heard her cry and answered her call Wednesday September 10, 2025 when he came and took her home to be at rest.
