Daisy Young Sims, a woman whose life was a testament to love, unwavering strength, and profound kindness, peacefully transitioned from this earthly realm on August 2, 2026, at her cherished residence. Born in Columbus, Mississippi, to W.C. Young, Sr. and Lessie Young, Daisy blossomed into a beloved matriarch, a devoted mother, a loving grandmother, a steadfast sister, and a cherished friend to many.

Her spiritual journey was deeply rooted in faith; Daisy confessed her hope in Christ and became a dedicated member of Full Gospel Ministries. Within its loving embrace, she poured her heart into service, gracing the usher board with her welcoming presence, enriching the drama team with her spirit, nourishing the community through food service, and faithfully supporting the Pastor's Aid.

Daisy was a woman of remarkable character, renowned for her unmatched strength and unwavering integrity. She was a confidante who "never told anyone's business," and her compassionate heart led her to help anyone in need, fostering friendships wherever she went. To gather around a card table with Daisy was an unforgettable experience, for she ensured that anyone who sat down to play spades would certainly remember her. Her world revolved around her family; her love for them knew no bounds, especially for her grandchildren, for whom she would do anything, oh and Sandy too. Many will recall her endearing and memorable saying, “Ain’t that a blimp,” a phrase that captured her unique zest for life. And as we bid her farewell, one might even envision her, surrounded by angels, perhaps enjoying "2 loose ones" in serene tranquility.

Daisy was preceded in eternal rest by her loving parents, W.C. Young, Sr. and Lessie Young; her dear sister, Janie B. Young; her brother, W.C. Young, Jr.; and her beloved grandson, Jarvis Blair, who undoubtedly awaited her with open arms.

Her enduring legacy of love and devotion lives on through her cherished children: Tony (Andrea D.) Young, Chasity (Arthur) Young-Blair, Sandy Young all of Columbus, MS, and Timothy (Andrea M.) Young of Navarre, FL. She also leaves to mourn her passing her beloved siblings, Mary A. Turner, Nancy (Albert) Harris, James Young, Pamela D. Turner, Annie Holt, and Angela Young, all residing in Columbus, MS, and Randy (Rosalyn) Young of DeSoto, TX. Daisy's memory will be treasured by her 12 adoring grandchildren and 11 precious great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews, and special love from her dear aunt, Betty Morgan and (Big) Janie Howard.
