Devin D. Thompson was born in Columbus, MS on March 12, 1990. Devin grew up in Columbus and attended the New Hope Schools. He was a part of the New Hope Class of 2009.

As a child, Devin played peewee football with New Hope. He enjoyed riding his bike and playing with his cousins and friends. Devin accepted Christ into his life and was baptized at Greater Mt. Zion Church. He was an active member and had a strong faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Devin chose a career path in trucking in 2013. His career in trucking led him to entrepreneurship in 2019. He became an owner/operator of DJ & Bayleigh Trucking Company traveling across the United States. Devin was a loved man who showed an abundant amount of love to all whom encountered him, especially his children. He also shared his love by helping anyone he could.

Devin departed this life on May 27, 2023. He is preceded in death by: his sister, Brittney Thompson; grandmother, Mary Jackson Johnson; his uncles, Porter Hubbard, Turner Jackson, Jimmy Alexander; his aunts, Barbara Thompson and Deborah Thompson.

Devin's memories will forever be cherished by: his parents: Jeanann and Portis Johnson; his children: Devin Thompson, Jr. and Bayleigh Thompson; his siblings, Kourtney (Kristen) Thompson, Curry (Jennifer) Johnson, and Portis Thompson; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
