On June 20, 2026, in the early morning hour of about six o’ clock a. m., surrounded by her family, Diane closed her book and put down her pen, she wrote the final chapter in her Book of Life, The End. Her work here on earth as a mother, grandmother, aunt, niece, cousin and friend came to an eternal end.

She made her entrance on page one and wrote her first chapter in her Book of Life on May 1, 1956. She was born to Walter and Johnnie Pearl Stewart Taylor, in Noxubee County, Macon, MS.

Diane confessed Jesus as her Lord and Savor at an early age and joined Mt. Zion M. B. church. There she served as vice president of the missionary, vice president of the pastor aid committee, kitchen committee and a member of the choir.

Diane graduated from Noxubee County High School, Macon, MS and was a member of the class of 1975.

Later in her Book of Life, she moved to Chicago, Il and stayed there for several years. Diane was known in her community as one of the most exquisitely dressed ladies, often seen in elegant suits and vibrant hats.

She was renowned in her community for her warmth and generosity, frequently preparing home-cooked meals and welcoming neighbors to her table with kindness.

Throughout her lifetime, Diane wore many different hats, working for Cal Jac Mang and providing domestic service to Frank Imes, Martha McGhey, Bob Phillips as well as George and Jenny Sherman. Diana worked for John Dowdle Corporation for the last 19 years, as a Family Assistant, where she managed household schedules, coordinated events, and provided support to family members.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Johnnie P. Taylor, her grandmother, Rhoda Stewart, and her nephew, Courtney Dowd.

Diane leaves to cherish her memories in her Book of Life, one daughter, Nicole T. Tate of Columbus, MS; one granddaughter, McKenzie Woods of Columbus, MS; one grandson, Juwan woods of Columbus, MS; two sisters, Eunice T. Scales (Joe), and Sandra Taylor both of Macon, MS; one brother, Cozene Taylor (Wiladen) of Pickensville, AL; God-daughter, Kamytreuna Williams; one special aunt, Bernice Forte; and a special cousin, Martenia Smith. She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
