Dora Young Taifer, age 73, was born on October 31, 1952, in Macon, MS to the late Richard and Lucy Brewer Young. Dora confessed hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Springhill Primitive Baptist Church in Macon, MS.

On November 19, 2025, the Lord called Dora Home. Her transition took place at her home in Columbus, MS.

Dora retired from Letchworth Village in Rockland County, NY. She wore many hats in her line of work, including patient care, medical treatment, and facility support, just to name a few. Dora loved her profession, loved life, never met a stranger and she loved to talk and encourage others to do better. Dora would brighten up any dark moments with her smile and outgoing personality. She loved her family, but she also enjoyed shopping and playing spades with friends and family. She will be truly missed

Dora is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Easter Darling, Rosie Wells, Ether Stewart and Sadie Young, her brothers, George Sheman Young, Enora Young, Richard Young, Cornelius Cash and Louis Young, Sr.

Dora leaves to cherish her heartfelt memories: her two sons, Dennis Young of Columbus, MS and Carlos Herring of New York; one daughter, Natacha Taifer of New York; one sister, Lizzie Young of Columbus, MS; one brother, Sammy (Julie) Young of Dayton, OH; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
