Elijah "Dick" Coley was the son of Johnny Bailey and Willie Ease Coley, born on October 24, 1953 in Columbus, MS.  He made his transition to eternal peace on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

Elijah was a hard-working man who loved spending time with his family and friends and listening to the blues.

Elijah is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ida Mae Coley; his brothers, Eddie Will Coley, Troy Lee Coley, and Elisha Coley; his sisters, Barbara Jean Neal, Jimmie Will Psalms, and Ruby Jean Brownlee; his son David Lee Harris, and his great-granddaughter Destin Young.

Elijah leaves to cherish his memories 5 sons, Elijah L. (Tina) Coley, Willie J. Coley, Derrick Ellis, Raymond (Lessie) Harris, and Dennis Ellis of Columbus, MS; 4 daughters, Hellen Lewis and Florence Ellis-Smith of Columbus, MS and Necole (Cedrick) Ellis-Baker and Donna (Antonio) Ellis-Ponder of Clinton, MS; 3 special children Dennis Ellis, Jr., Joia Hardison, and Ahzoria Harkins, all of Columbus, MS; brothers Johnny Will Coley, Freddie Lee Coley, James Dean Coley, Willie James Coley, Rickey Lee Coley, Sr., and Robert Earl Coley; sisters, Samella Coley, Arlena Coley, and Denise Coley-Hawkins, 34 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
