Obituary

Mrs. Ella Mae Jones was born on March 10, 1941 in Kemper County to the late Ethel Hill-Slaughter and Ollie Slaughter. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age. She attended Mt.Zion MB church until her health failed.

She departed life on January 13, 2025, at her home. She was preceded in death with her son Johnnie Earl Slaughter, three sisters, Mary Anna Parks, Ella Ree Dora, Rosie Neal, and one brother, Johnny G. Slaughter.

The most passionate and loving woman to meet. Ella was a homemaker and small farmer for many years. A seamstress who embarked on that journey at a young age and presented her token of love throughout the community.

She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Lillie (Bobby) Jamison, four sons, Jerome Slaughter, Willie Bee Slaughter, Dudley Slaughter, and Billy Ray Slaughter; two sisters, Minnie Pearl Wells and Mattie B. Bentley; twenty-six grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces/nephews.
