Ella Dell Selvie was born on October 8, 1942, in Crawford, MS to Mary D. Selvie and Booker T. Rice.
Ella peacefully departed this life on June 18, 2026, at Singing River Health System in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. She gently transitioned from labor to reward, entering her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior.
She was employed with Johnston Tombigbee Furniture Company and later worked at Seminole Manufacturing in Columbus, Mississippi, where she dedicated many years of service until its closure. Throughout her life, she was especially known for her exceptional cooking and baking talents. She lovingly shared her gifts in the kitchen, and her family was continually blessed by the delicious meals and baked goods she prepared with care, warmth, and love.
She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Mary D. Selvie; her father, Booker T. Rice; her beloved daughter, Charlotte Selvie; her granddaughter, Nykedra Selvie; her loving sister, Deloise Selvie Collins; and her cherished brothers, Robert Lee Selvie, James Earl Selvie, Willie D. Selvie, Albert Selvie, Sr., and Houston Selvie, Sr.
Those left to cherish and honor the wonderful and loving memories of such a precious soul are her sons, whom she loved dearly and was very proud of: George (Twana) Selvie of Pensacola, FL; Dock Selvie of Mobile, AL; Fredrick (Patricia) Selvie of Columbus, MS; and Kevin Selvie of Mobile, AL; four sisters, Inell Stevenson, Queenie (William) McCarter, Annie (Charles) Ames, all of Crawford, MS, and Barbara Bridges of Columbus, MS; one brother, Tommy Selvie of Cincinnati, OH; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Shirley Selvie of Crawford, MS and Victoria Selvie of Cincinnati, OH; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
