Obituary

Ella Lue Taylor was born in Noxubee County, Mississippi to Martha Jane Taylor (Harris). She was raised by her mother and grandparents, Sue Lee and Nelson Taylor.

She confessed and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.

On March 9, 1949, she gave birth to a son whom she named Johnny Will Taylor. In April 1950, she married John L. Smart, Sr and to this union ten (10) children were born.

Ella spent much of her adult life as a homemaker, farm worker, and a loving wife and mother. She loved helping, sharing and caring for anyone in need. She gladly shared what she had and did whatever she could for those needing it.

She joined Fairview Church soon after marriage where she remained a faithful member....consistently attending regular services, Sunday School, and serving as a member of the Missionary Society until her health started to fail. Ella, the family matriarch, has been a rock and the glue that has kept her family bonded. She not only talked the talk but also walked the walk of righteousness.

In addition to her husband, she is also preceded in death by her mother and grandparents; sons, Melvin Smart, Johnny Will Taylor, and John Smart, Jr.; daughter, Diane Smart Anthony, and brother, Robert Lee Taylor.

She is survived by her children: Elizabeth (James) Terry, Jeannette (Louis) Coleman, Dennis (Levearn) Smart, Howard (Gloria) Smart, David Smart, Daniel Smart, and Bobby Smart; sisters, Annie Pearl Harris, Della Flimmons, and Christine Beckum. In addition, she leaves 29 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
