Eloise
Lawson
Jul 18, 1954 — Aug 20, 2026
Columbus, MS
Eloise Lawson, a loving mother, devoted grandmother, cherished sister, adored aunt, and loyal friend, peacefully departed this life on August 20, 2026, at her residence. Born in Columbus, MS, to Coleman Rush and Edith Mack Lawson, Eloise's life journey was marked by a deep capacity for love and a spirit of compassionate service.
Eloise began her life in Columbus, MS, before moving to California at a young age, where she spent many years cultivating her life and career. In
2009, she gracefully returned to her roots in Columbus, bringing with her a wealth of experiences and memories. From an early age, Eloise found solace and strength in her faith, confessing her hope in Christ at Missionary Union Baptist Church. This spiritual foundation guided her throughout her life, enriching her character and providing comfort.
While residing in California, Eloise dedicated herself to caring for others as a private home care worker, a role that perfectly aligned with her innate desire to nurture and support those in need. Her kindness and gentle spirit made a profound difference in the lives of many. Beyond her professional calling, Eloise had a passion for cooking, with her delicious tacos being a particular favorite, bringing joy to family and
friends alike. She was also a fiercely devoted fan of the San Francisco 49ers, cheering on her team with unwavering enthusiasm.
Eloise was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Coleman Rush and Edith Mack Lawson, and her dear sister, Treaslene Williams.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her children, Greg Pope of Los Angeles, CA, and Kaiser J. Stanfield III of Riverside, CA. Her legacy continues through her siblings, Herman (Carolyn) Lawson, Jr. of Columbus, MS, and Tresvan (Nell) Lawson of Los Angeles, CA. She will also be deeply missed by her seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who were all touched by her warm heart and generous spirit.
