Mcshan Moore
November 26, 1935 – December 7, 2025
Erma "Jean" (McShan) Moore was born on November 26, 1935, to Ruby C. Moore
and Sesser McShan in Columbus, Mississippi.
She was baptized at an early age at Canaan Baptist Church and remained a loyal
member until her death. Jean worked at Johnson Tombigbee Furniture
Manufacturing Company, Baptist Memorial Hospital and dedicated 15 years at the
Department of Human Services.
Jean was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose gentle spirit,
compassion, and unwavering love shaped generations. She will forever be
remembered for her warmth, wisdom, and the way she embraced everyone as family.
Jean left us on December 7, 2025, and was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby
C. Moore; her father, Sesser McShan; her son, Ricky McShan; her granddaughter,
Latavia Howard; her daughter-in-law, Melinda McShan; and her siblings, Vera Jones,
Johnnie Mae Cunningham, Tommy Moore, and Larry Green.
She is survived by her children: Linda Lang, Eddie McShan, Tylana McShan,
Sammie McShan, Vickey (Lewis) Williams, Sandra (Thomas) Mitchell, Denise
(Cornell) Glenn, Maurice Johnson and Phebie Moore. Her siblings: Sammy Moore,
Geraldine Anderson and Janice Nelson.
Jean's legacy lives on through her 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 9
great-great-grandchildren. Each one a living reflection of the love she poured into
her family. Her presences will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will continue to guide,
comfort, and inspire all who knew her.
Jean is lovingly remembered by: bonus daughters: Lola Daniels and Melody Petty;
extended family, the Gibbs Family, Joe Lee and Melody Howard; and special friends:
Johnny Lash and Brenda Williams.
Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will remain
forever in our hearts.
