Our    beloved Ethan Gemar Young was born Wednesday, August 01, 2007, to Adria Slaughter and Eddie Young, Jr. in Columbus, MS at Baptist Memorial Hospital. He attended Noxubee County High School and was a member of the graduating class of 2026. There he was a member of the Tiger football team and track team. He was employed at McDonald's (Macon, MS) and Lowe's Home Improvement Store (Columbus, MS). He departed this life on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Ethan was a true countryman, and he definitely dressed the part. From his hat to his plaid button-down shirt, Wrangler jeans, big belt buckle, down to his square-toe boots. He was an avid horse lover. When he wasn't working and spending time with his loved ones and friends, he was riding and caring for horses, especially his horse "Chappa", that precedes him in death.

Ethan leaves to cherish his loving memories, his twin sons Na'Kaious and Na' Ssiah Doss of Starkville, MS. His mother Adria (Brendel!) Slaughter of Brooksville, MS and his father Eddie (Courtney) Young. Jr. of Columbus, MS. Sisters: Ah'Zada Slaughter of Brooksville, MS, Nevaeh Young of Columbus, MS, Cheyenne Franklin of Macon, MS, Bresha Franklin of Birmingham, AL, and Stori Franklin of Scooba, MS. Brothers: Le'Karion Lovelace of Brooksville, MS, Cayden Young, Di'Quavious Gray, and Javier Tate all of Starkville, MS, Christopher Glenn and Brendel! Franklin, Jr. both of Macon, MS. Grandparents: JoAnn Slaughter-Jones of Brooksville, MS, Rachel Young-Issac of Starkville, MS and Emmitt Hines, Jr. of Brooksville, MS. Aunts: Nicole (Samuel) Young and Jill Young both of Starkville, MS, Nakya (Jimmy) Young of Cordova, TN, Patrica J. (Issac) Harris of Columbus, MS, Terlisher S. (Roger) Tate of Brooksville, MS and Christina S. (Calvin) Daniels of Klein, TX. Ethan is preceded in death by his grandfathers Eddie Short, Sr. and Johnnie Earl Slaughter, his sister Brenna Franklin, his great-grandparents Ella Mae Jones, Ruthie Dell Jamison, Sammie Jamison, Clara Mae Young, Harrison W. Grayer and Fannie Lee Bush. His great-aunts Josephine Staples, Mary Jean Coats, Jerri Dean Mitchell and his great-uncle Willie Eris Jamison.
