Evelyn
Blunt
March 3, 1960 – October 8, 2023
On Sunday, October 8th Sis. Evelyn Blunt quietly left this world of sin, sorrow, and pain. She was gently cradled in her Savior's arms and took her eternal rest.
On March 3, 1960, Evelyn Stewart Blunt was born to the union of Henry and Alberta Stewart. Evelyn accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age at Southside Missionary Baptist Church, where her service, dedication, and devotion to God began.
Evelyn started her education at Mitchell Memorial Elementary. It continued throughout where she obtained her diploma from RS Caldwell High School. on June 1, 1978. Early in life, Evelyn realized she was fascinated by education and realized she wanted to be a teacher. She met a teacher who taught her business, bookeeping, and accounting. From there she started to become excited about accounting and numbers and balance sheets and assets and liabilities. Thereafter, she completed her educational pursuits at Mississippi State University in 1982. While at Mississippi State University, she pledged Delta Sigma Phi and received certification from Gamma Delta Chapter on November 30, 1980.
Evelyn instilled her love for accounting throughout the Columbus Municipal School District where she served as an account's payable accountant until her retirement.
On November 14, 1989, Evelyn was united in marriage to Eddie Will Blunt Sr., and they lived happily together until his timely demise. Together they instilled in their children to be God-living and God-fearing and to be a Christian was one of the greatest things in life.
Evelyn Blunt was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Henry "Jack" Adams, sister Ethel Sparks, and aunt, Margie Morton.
