Mrs. Fannie Pearl Mathis was born August 25, 1945 to Jordan and Fannie Francis Council in Columbus, Mississippi.
She transitioned from this life on her birthday August 25, 2022 in Columbus, Mississippi.
She moved to Hartford, Connecticut in 1966 and met the love of her life.
She was united, in holy matrimony to Arthur B. Mathis Jr. on January 24, 1969. This union they were blessed with one daughter and one son.
The Mathis family moved to Miami, Florida in 1976 after the family got settled in, she attended Dorsey Skill Center and received her certification as a certified nursing aid. In the early 80's, she also did some secretarial work for Gucci in Bal Harbour, Florida.
In 1984, she worked as a caregiver for Landmark Learning Center until retirement working more than 30 plus years. After retirement, she opened her doors to the babies and her God-children where she cared for them with motherly loved.
"Doll" as we affectionately called her, was very sweet, very kind and was a well organized person. She had a great personality.
"Doll" confessed Jesus Christ as her savior at an early age and Join the Union Hopewell M. B. Church. Although she left Columbus, Mississippi she exploded other church settings during her adult life. After moving to Miami Florida more than 25 years ago, she United with God's Family Church she was the mother of the church. Her church family called her "Mother Fannie" She loved the Lord and she loved her church family. She enjoyed reading the Bible and reciting scripture. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. She was known for her sweet potato pies, butter roll, banana bread and her famous pound cake.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and siblings, Addie Council, Jessie Cooney and Earlie Council.
