On Friday, May 19, 2023, the death angel came to the Baptist Memorial Hospital, in Oxford, MS and bore the spirit of Mr. Fred "Bubba" Ross Bonner, to the land of free from sickness, sorrow, pain and death.
Mr. Fred "Bubba" Ross Bonner, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Lee (Alberta) Bonner, was born on April 1, 1955, in Columbus, MS.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Zion M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J.L. Nichols. Fred worked for Mrs. Thelma Pugh for twenty years plus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Mr. Albert Davis, Mr. William L. McCottrell, Sr. and Mr. Sammie L. Bonner; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; his grandparents, Mr. Jim Henry (Abby) Bonner and Mr. Fred (Wilma) Davis; and a nephew, Mr. Albert Wayne Bonner.
He is survived by one daughter, Ms. Dominika "April" Bonner of Columbus, GA; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Mr. Booker T. (the late Annie Charles) Mc Cottrell of Temple, TX, Mr. Ellis D. Mc Cottrell of Columbus, GA and Mr. Jimmy L. (Bennie) Bonner; Mrs. Lula (the late William) McCottrell of Columbus, MS; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Mrs. Jean (Sam) Ford of San Antonio, TX, Mrs. Nancy (The late James) Eason of Massapequa, NY, Mrs. Bonnie (Kenny) Truitt of Gautier, MS and Mrs. Betty (Eric) Chinnis of Uniondale, NY; three grandchildren; nieces; nephews and a hosts of relatives and friends.
