Fredrick "Fred"
Douglas Duncan Tsgt, Usaf Retired
August 4, 1963 – August 15, 2024
Fredrick Douglas Duncan was born August 4, 1963 in Macon, Ga to the parents of Douglas and Ella Duncan. Fredrick answered God's call and bid his family and friends farewell on August 15, 2024. During early childhood, he was a good baby, and would only cry when he was hungry and needed his diaper changed. Fred had a zest for life. He was always curious and excited to learn. He exceeded in learning life skills. In school, he was meticulous, calculating and emulated his father in all areas of his life.
Fred was obedient, loving, kind-hearted, gentle, humble, thoughtful, slow to anger, and fun. He was good role model for his siblings; very skilled in relating to all people and a good sense of humor. Fred accepted Christ at the early of 5-6 years old and was baptized. He joined the Boy Scouts of America from Cub to Eagle Scout. He loved and excelled in all sports. His best friend, Wayne, stated that he got his athleticism from his mom. His love for sports continued as a softball coach while in the military. Fred looked up to his father and wanted to follow in his footsteps.
Fred attended schools in the Macon, Georgia area until receiving his high school diploma with the Central High School Class of 1981. While in high school, he joined the JROTC achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant and leader of the platoon. He was also a member of the orchestra where he played the cello. He also taught himself how to play the guitar, which became a hobby of his for many years.
Fred enlisted in the United States Air Force after high school and served his country faithfully both domestically and abroad until his retirement in 2001. He not only received his education but earned various awards and medals during his career. After retirement, he continued his service as a contractor with T6 Combs and Boeing at the Columbus Air Force Base. Fred was a faithful member of Southside M.B. Church where he also was a member of the Male Choir.
Fredrick was an outstanding husband, christian, and spiritual leader of his home. He led by example, shared his wisdom with family and friends, taught good values, and was always willing to help and solve problems. He was just an all-around great man!
