Gladys Prowell Walker also known to her family and friends as "Lil Sister" was born January 25, 1948 in Columbus, MS to the late Charlie Prowell Sr. and the late Gladys Perkins Prowell.

Although she didn't have a church home she frequented often, she was very spiritual and knew the Lord well.  She attended R.E. Hunt High School and worked several years at the MUW as a cook. Cooking was her passion and life's calling, she was the best cook and without a doubt made the best potato salad in Columbus, MS.

She loved to garden every summer, and she had a green thumb for growing plants and flowers. She was a fashionista with style and flare. She was funny, blatantly honest and all while being as sarcastic as she could be. She was one of one often imitated but will never be duplicated.

She's left this earthly world to prepare heavenly places for her five children, Jacqueline Taylor, Dewayne D. Walker (Marsha Wriley Walker) Racquel McBride (Quartres McBride), Brandy A. Walker and Amanda "Tootie" Walker whom all reside in Columbus, MS; one brother, Norman Prowell (Louise Prowell) of Orlando, Florida; two sisters, Lucy Casey and Emma Stewart (John Stewart) of Grand Prairie Texas as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She's preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Prowell Sr. and Gladys Perkins Prowell; six brothers, Billy, Jimmy, Leon, Charlie, Robert "Buttercup" and George "Ice Cube" Prowell; three sisters, Essie Mary Prowell, Martha Prowell and Mary "Bay Kay" Hill. She also had one child that preceded her in death, Leslie Ann Walker.
