Obituary

Harry B. Parr, Jr. peacefully passed away on March 3, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital- GT. Born on July 16, 1961, in Columbus, MS, to the late Harry B. Parr, Sr. and Doris Parr. Harry lived a life filled with love, devotion, and spirited joy. He was 64 years old.

Harry was a cherished presence in the lives of many, known affectionately as a loving father, devoted son, supportive brother, and loyal friend. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, moments often made even more special by his passion for cooking delicious meals that brought everyone together.

A true enthusiast, Harry found immense pleasure in football, especially as a dedicated fan of the New Orleans Saints. His cheers and unwavering support for his team were a testament to his lively spirit. Beyond his hobbies, Harry was a man of faith and attended Turner Chapel A.M.E. Church, where he humbly served as an usher, welcoming all with a warm smile and a helping hand.

Harry's gentle spirit and kind heart left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. He was a pillar of strength and comfort, always ready to offer support and share a laugh.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Harry B. Parr, Sr. and Doris Parr and his two sisters, Iris Stewart and Dorothy Smith, who undoubtedly welcomed him home.

Harry leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to his devoted children, Latoya O'Neal of Columbus, MS, Shalondra Halthon of Columbus, MS and First Class Petty Officer (Aviation Ordnanceman) Adriena Parr of Gurnee,IL; and five grandchildren Dathan J. McCoy, Jr., Destinee S. McCoy, Jayden O. Sherrod, Justin O. Halthon, and Jeremiah R. Halthon. He will be deeply missed by his siblings, Howard Parr of Columbus, MS, Larry (Yonda) Parr of Virginia Beach, VA, Eugene (Cynthia) Parr of Stockbridge, GA, Marvin Parr of Columbus, MS, Selena Parr of Columbus, MS, Dreamer (James) Jackson of Columbus, MS and Stephanie (Willie) Jones of Columbus, MS. His memory will also be treasured by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless other relatives and friends whose lives he touched so profoundly.
