Hattie Luecille Blair was born September 12, 1947 to George Bradley and Rosie Bradley in Lowndes County, MS. Hattie's education took place at Anderson Grove and R.E. Hunt High School. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of Anderson Grove M.B. Church where she served faithfully on the choir, missionary, deaconess, kitchen committee, usher, and custodian.
Sis. Hattie Blair worked hard throughout her life in various areas. She began at the local garment factory, later transitioning to Caledonia Elementary in the cafeteria and as a school bus driver. After retirement, she continued her bus driving profession with the Anderson Grove Head Start. Lastly, she worked in Private Home as a sitter.
Hattie met and married John Blair. Their union was blessed for 53 years and they together raised five children. She was a dedicated lady to her family, church, friends, and community. She did so much for everyone and did it with excellence.
Hattie Blair departed this life on Saturday, December 20, 2025 in Steens, MS. She is preceded in death by: her parents, husband, her daughter, Beverly Ann Blair, and her siblings: Pricilla Clark, Martha Ruth Oliver, Georgetta Bradley, Lloyd Bradley, Josie Shields, and Melvin Bradley.
Hattie's memories will forever be cherished by her children, John Blair, Jr. of Steens, MS, Tracey (Diane) Blair of Columbus, MS, Keenan Deshawn Blair of Steens, MS, and Michael Scott Blair of Tacoma, WA; her siblings, Thomas (Dorothy)Bradley of Steens, Kirby Edwards of Columbus, MS, Leon (Ruth) Bradley of Caledonia, MS, Barbara Tucker of Los Angeles, CA, Ervin Bradley of Tacoma, WA, Mary Ann Lawrence of Cincinnati, OH, and Jerome (Frances) Bradley of Steens, MS; sisters-in-law, Barbara Bradley of Steens, MS and Eurie Henry of Columbus, MS; brothers-in law, William Shields of Caledonia, MS; two adopted sons, Vance Shelly and Willie Walker; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
