Obituary

Irene Glenn, lovingly known as "Punkin," was born on December 9, 1956, to Archie Lee and Everleana Glenn in Macon, MS.

She attended Noxubee County Schools and graduated in 1977.

Irene dedicated over 20 years of her career to Texaco Food Mart, where she served as a Head Cook, sharing her passion for cooking with many.

A devoted member of Mt. Carmel M.B. Church, she found joy in her faith and community. Irene cherished spending time with her family, engaging in lively phone conversations, and playing games on her phone. She also loved watching her favorite "stories," which brought her much happiness.

Irene passed away on May 12, 2025, at Noxubee County Nursing Home. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Clifford Earl Glenn.

Irene's memories will forever be cherished by: her three  daughters, Lakisha (Jarriel) Jones of Columbus, MS,  Everlena (Derrick) Foote of Macon, MS, and Alzalyn Glenn of Columbus, MS; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her siblings, Samuel Lee Glenn of Macon, MS, Alexander Glenn of Brooksville, MS, Hattie Mae Glenn of Columbus, MS,  Bertha (Eddie) Davis of Brooksville, MS, Susie (Jimmie) Moore of Macon,  MS, and Archie Lee (Bessie) Glenn, Jr. of Macon, MS. She will be forever remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
