Obituary

Isaac Lacy, Jr., was born on September 21, 1968, in Columbus, Mississippi, to  Rev. Isaac Lacy, Sr. and Lilly P. Lacy. He left this world on June 28, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – GT, surrounded by his family.

From a young age, he embraced his faith, confessing his love for Christ at Southside M.B. Church, where he thrived under the nurturing leadership of his father. It was there that he discovered his passion for music, delighting in singing and playing the drums, sharing his gifts with the congregation and community.

Isaac graduated from S.D. Lee High School in 1986, marking the beginning of a life dedicated to service and hard work. He was married to his loving wife, Sheila Kidd, with whom he shared a beautiful journey filled with love and devotion. Their partnership was a source of strength and joy, and together they created lasting memories that will be cherished by all who knew them.

Throughout his career, Isaac exemplified dedication and versatility. He served as a bus driver for the Columbus Municipal School District and S & S Tours, where he was known for his kindness and commitment to the children he transported. His professional journey also included roles as a truck driver for Mississippi Material and Swift Transportation, a stocker at Walmart, a technician at Carl Hogan, and positions at Robinson Janitorial and the Columbus Air Force Base Commissary. In every role, he brought a sense of community and integrity, leaving a positive impact on those around him.

Isaac's love for music remained constant throughout his life, providing him with joy and a means of connection. His vibrant spirit and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Isaac is preceded in death by parents; brother-in-law, John Uloko; niece, Omesi Loupearl Lacy-Uloko; sister-in-law, Ruby Saddler, Debra Kidd, and Nicole Kidd; nephew, Jeremy Kidd; father-in-law, Johnny G. Kidd.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Kidd; his children; Anika Lacy, Andrea Lacy, Isaac Lacy III, Sherrece Lacy, Armonni Smith and Jayceon Jones; grandchildren, Semaji Lacy-Bostick, Aubrie Lacy, Si'Niah and Simiar Lacy-Bostick, Kendrix Lacy, Ombre Thompson, and Shamiyah Lacy-Bostick; his siblings,  Patricia Uloko of Columbus, MS, Mary Lewis of Tacoma, WA, and Sharon Lacy of Albany, GA.; his mother-in-law, Ruby Kid a host of in-laws, John Lee Kidd, Tommy Lee (Barbara) Kidd both of Steens, MS, Marquez Baker of Columbus, MS; Annie Shelly of Vero Beach, FL, Williene Jones of Vernon, AL, Shelia (Issac) Lacy, Becky Kidd, Patricia (Chris) Cobb, and Debbie Kidd all of Columbus, MS; and other family and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
