Jenifer D. Johnson was born in Macon, MS on December 28, 1973. She attended various schools and graduated from New Hope High School. After high school she enrolled at Hinds Community College and received her associate's degree. She would then enroll at Jackson State University. Jennifer had a passion for criminal justice leading her to career field. She began her employment with Hinds County Department of Correction and transitioned to the Yazoo Federal Bureau Prison System, where she served as a correctional officer for 16 years until her retirement.
Jennifer was an outgoing, bubbly young lady. She enjoyed traveling and laughter with family and friends. Jennifer was a talented woman with words. She would partake in talk shows and even published her book titled: "The Dream Killer." She would also help others with any clerical work including: resumes, papers, and church bulletins She was a very strong Christian who loved prayer. She confessed Christ at an early age at Reform Temple C.O.G.I.C. Her love for Christian fellowship was shred with several churches.
Jennifer departed this life on September 7, 2022, in Columbus, MS. She is preceded by: her special aunt, Gustavia Moody Paulette.
Jennifer's memories will forever be cherished by: her son, Demetri Clark of Starkville, MS; one granddaughter, Harmony Clark of Starkville, MS; her parents: William and Brenetta Sherrod of Columbus, MS; her siblings: Kelvin(Apryl)Sherrod and Nichole Hodges both of Houston, TX; her nephews: Anthony Hodges, Jr., Kelvin Sherrod, II, and Keinan Sherrod; her aunts: Gracie Moody of Daytona Beach, FL, Mary Ann Johnson-Taylor of Cleveland, OH, Matricia Johnson Hughes of Columbus, MS and Claudia Johnson-Jenkins of Jackson, MS; and a host of other relatives and friends.
