Obituary

A Time to Be Born: Jerry Adams Hill entered this world on August 23, 1956, in Noxubee County, Mississippi, to his loving parents, the late Elizabeth (Boo) Thomas and Theotis (Heni) Thomas.

A Time to Live: At an early age, Jerry found hope and solace in his faith and became a devoted member of Ivy Grove Mississippi Baptist Church in Shuqualak, MS, under the leadership of Reverend Lonzell Black. Throughout his life, he remained steadfast in his commitment to his church and his relationship with Christ.

A Time to Die: On Monday, October 16, 2023, at the Winona Manor Health Care Facility in Winona, Mississippi, Jerry Hill answered the angel's call, peacefully leaving behind the trials of this world. He departed from a world filled with sin, sorrow, and pain, finding his eternal place of peace and rest. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Alma Jean Bryant and Carolyn Neely, and six brothers, Earnest Bryant, Rodney Bryant, Willie Felton, John Felton, Eddie Lee McCloud, and Clarence Felton.

A Time to Remember: Jerry's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him most: his two beloved sons, LJ (Jennifer) Brooks of Macon, MS, and Gentry Mosley of Shuqualak, MS. His lively presence will be expressed through his love and admiration of his five cherished grandchildren, Kyle Brooks, Kenya Nunn, Juvie Mosley, Ayden Mosley, and Ashanti Mosley, whom he loved dearly. Four sisters will reflect and remember Jerry as their baby brother: Sherrie Ewing, Diane Sparks, and Aretha Felton, all of Shuqualak, MS, and Willie Mae Clark of East St. Louis, Illinois. He is survived by his five brothers, Allen Bryant of Phoenix, Arizona; Eddie Bryant of Columbus, GA; James Felton of East St. Louis, Illinois; Earl Felton and Jerome Felton of Shuqualak, MS. His memories will live through the lives of a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, who all held a special place in his heart.

All can remember Jerry's life for his uncharted lifestyle, unwavering faith, bold love & affection, and, most notably, his devotion to his family and community. To know him is to love him. Jerry's expressions of enjoying and living life to the fullest will remain, even after death. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him, and his memory will forever be a source of inspiration, comfort, laughter, and the most rewarding trait he possessed: be true to yourself.

Jerry's journey may have ended, but his spirit lives on in the love and memories he's left behind.
