Phase I: Jesse J. Jethrow was the third child born to Julius and Bernice Jethrow on December 26, 1951 in Columbus, Mississippi.
Psalms 139:13 "For you created my inmost beings; you knit me together in my mother's womb."
Phase II: Jesse confessed Christ at an early age, uniting with the Southside M. B. Church under the leadership of Pastor W. M. Washington. He remained a faithful member until he went to be with his Creator. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1981 and served on the Men on a Mission ministry and the Male Choir ministry. Jesse received the Men of Honor Award which was given by the Southside Missionary Baptist Church on June 19, 2011.
Collosians 3:23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for man.
Phase III: Jesse was educated in the Columbus school system. He attended Mitchell Memorial School during the early part of his education and went on to receive his high school diploma in 1971 from R. E. Hunt High School.
Proverbs 19:20 "Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise."
Phase IV: Jesse's employment began at Columbus Hospital on February 28, 1974, then after the merge, he was with Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT from June 8, 1984 until his retirement on April 13, 2011. He worked a total of 37 years before he retired from laboring.
Matthew 11:28 "Come to me all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
Phase V: Jesse met and married Delois Hughes Jethrow, the love of his life and to this union was blessed with two sons. He enjoyed fishing and baseball in his spare time. He took pride in coaching the Columbus Hospital baseball team for several years while being employed there. He was a survivor of a heart transplant and other illnesses throughout his life. He was a fighter until the end.
Ephesians 5:31 "For this reason a man will leave his Father and Mother and be united to his wife."
Phase VI: Jesse passed away from his earthly home and moved into his eternal home on May 4, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT.
Romans 6:8 "Now if we die with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him."
Phase VII: Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Bernice Jethrow and brother, William Earl Jethrow.
I Thessalonians 4:14 We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.
Phase VII: Jesse leaves behind to cherish his wonderful memories; his loving and supporting wife Delois Hughes Jethrow and children; Marcus Jethrow and Vincent (DeAngeli) Jethrow of Columbus, MS. His encouraging siblings: Edward (Adartha) Williams, Thrassey Jethrow, Elijah Jethrow, Albert Jethrow, Annie Jethrow Smith and Gloria Jethrow Sanders; all of Columbus, MS. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
