Jessie Kidd, Jr. was born on July 2, 1950, in Lowndes County, MS to Jessie Kidd, Sr. and Zara E. Kidd. He departed this life on August 23, 2023, in Columbus, MS. Brother Kidd accepted Christ at an early age and joined Providence M.B. Church.

Jessie received his education at Coleman Elementary and R.E. Hunt High School. He served in the United States Army for 3 Years. He began his career as truck driver, employed with several companies: Russell Wholesale, Chancellor Wholesale, and West Point Produce. He was also employed with Weyerhaeuser Paper Mill in Millport, Alabama until retirement.

Jessie met and married the love of his life, Mrs. Shirley Catchings. They shared many wonderful years until her death in 2018.

After so much suffering, the Lord called Jessie home where there is no pain and no burden of a tear. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; and two sisters: Sally Will Kidd and Susie E. Kidd.

Jessie leaves to cherish his memories: his siblings: Mary F. Davis, Tommy Kidd, and Lillie M. Kidd; special nieces: Angela Kidd Watson and Cynthia Kidd; his nephews: Min. Maurice Kidd and Marcus Kidd; eight stepchildren: Fred Prude, Frank Prude, Robert Davis, LaJoyce Davis, Tyrone Sherrod, Angela Sherrod, Frederick Sherrod, and Sasha Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
