Obituary

Jesus DeWayne Hughes, known affectionately as Jeezy, was born on June 9, 1981, to Johnnie and Lucy Hughes in Aliceville, Alabama. He passed away on October 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

From a young age, Jeezy had a passion for football, a love that would remain a significant part of his life. He graduated from Aliceville High School in 2001, where he not only excelled academically but also formed lasting friendships through his involvement in sports. His enthusiasm for football continued as he passionately supported the Alabama Crimson Tide and the San Francisco 49ers, sharing countless moments of joy and excitement with family and friends.

After high school, Jeezy moved to Columbus, Mississippi, where he found fulfillment in his work as a forklift driver at SMP. His dedication and strong work ethic earned him the respect of his colleagues, who admired his reliability and kindness.

Jeezy was also a proud member of the King of Spades social club, where he enjoyed the fellowship of his friends. His vibrant spirit and infectious laughter brought joy to gatherings, and he had a unique ability to light up any room he entered.

Above all, Jeezy was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He cherished his family deeply, always putting their needs before his own. His legacy will live on through the love he shared and the memories he created with those closest to him.

Jesus is preceded in death by his father.
