It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jimmie Lee Valentine, Sr. on March 27, 2024 in Columbus, MS. Jimmie Lee Valentine, Sr. was born on May 9, 1952 in Columbus, MS to Rayfield, Sr. and Ada Valentine. He was a Retired Warehouse Supervisor for Cash Distributing and a hardworking man who raised four children as a single father. He was everyone's "favorite uncle". Jimmie, known as "Jim", met and married his wife, Mary, and they  shared 33 wonderful years together. Jimmie enjoyed sports as his favorite teams were the Indianapolis Colts and the Philadelphia 76ers. He also loved to dance and was a flag football coach.

Jimmie is survived by: his wife, Mary Valentine of Columbus, MS; children: Amy(Doug)Valentine of Dallas, TX, Jimmie L.(Shavonne)Valentine, Jr. of Fort Mitchell, AL, Sharon Valentine of Columbus, MS, Phillip Valentine of Tacoma, WA, and AlCurtis Thomas of Cahokia, IL; his brothers: John(Rebecca) and Bennie Valentine of Los Angeles, CA, Rayfield(Barbaranetta) Valentine, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC, and Bobby(Bernice)Valentine of Columbus, MS; his sisters: Alice Bean of Forrest City, AR, Annie "Louise" Johnson, Sandra(Leon) Horton, and Mary Turner all of Columbus, MS; thirteen grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Rayfield Valentine, Sr. and Ada Valentine; his son, Kwame Thomas; his brother, Randy Valentine; his brothers-in-law: Arthur Bean, Sr., Isaac Turner, Jr., and Lovess Johnsons, Sr.
