John Lee Holiman was born May 28, 1946 in Sidon, Mississippi to Percy and Johnnie Mae Holiman. Mr. Holiman was an educated man who received his master's degree. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1967 proudly serving in the Vietnam War. After his enlistment, his began his career in counseling with the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center until retirement. After moving to Mississippi, he continued his career part-time with Community Counseling Services. His true passion was counseling young men to a better path in life.

John Lee Holiman departed this life on September 9, 2022 in Columbus, MS. He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: Sharon Holiman, Marie Doyle, and James Holimon.

John Lee Holiman leaves to cherish his memories: son, Demar Holiman of Chicago, IL; daughter, Keisha Perisee of Houston, TX; three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
