John E. Jones was born on January 11, 1931 in West Point, MS to Oscar and Bertha Jones.  He attened School in the West Point School District.  John later moved to Cleveland, OH where he worked as a Medical Tech at the Medical Center for over 20 years.  John  later moved back to Mississippi where he was employed at Baptist Memorial Hospital until his retirement.

John married the love of his life, Joyce Fay Duck and to this union one daughter was born, Erica Jones.

He attended Mt. Pisgah M.B. Church and where he was a faithful  choir member.

John is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one brother, Roy Jones.
