Obituary

Johnny James Craddieth, Sr. entered this world on January 26, 1951, in Steens, MS to James & Bernice Dickerson Craddieth. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at a young age and was a lifelong member of Hebron C.M.E. Church. James shared his voice of singing with the Hebron Male Chorus. James, known to family and friends as "Junior", was an active man throughout his lifetime. In his early years, he was a member of the Steens Braves Baseball Team and the Ace of Spades Motorcycle Club. "Junior" was an avid hunter and a member of the 30 Caliber Hunting Club. Johnny was employed with United Technologies for a number until the plant closing. He served faithfully as a mason with Union Lodge #76, P.H.A. of Ethelsville, AL.

Johnny James Craddieth, Sr. departed this life on August 29, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital GT. He is preceded in death by his parents: James & Bernice Dickerson Craddieth; three (3) sisters, Loretta "Sister" Craddieth-Gray, Nettie Ree Ogden, Bettie Mildred "Tot" Dickerson, & Elaine Craddieth Humphries; four (4) brothers, Baby Willie James Craddieth, Culbert "Bubba" Craddieth, Major Ralph "Bugamane" Craddieth, & Ret. 1st Sgt. Joshua Craddieth.

Johnny's memories will forever be cherished by his children: Veronica  (Timothy) Lewis & Toriaeno  (Erica) Greenlee both of Columbus, MS and Johnny J.  (Rachel) Craddieth, Jr. of Ft. Worth, TX; 3 grandsons, Jaelan Craddieth, Jamar Craddieth, Jordan Craddieth;  2 granddaughters, Krystal Lewis, Lauren Greenlee; three (3) sisters: Rachel Craddieth (Louis) Jennings of Steens, MS;  Jeanette Craddieth (Darryl) Riles of Tupelo, MS, & Delois Craddieth of Steens, MS; four (4) brothers: Ret. SFC Andrew "Bay-Bay" Craddieth of Columbus, MS, Otto "Toe" Craddieth of Chicago, IL, Keith "Punkin" (Linda) Craddieth of Steens, MS, & Ret. CSM Arvis "Peanut" (Anamischa) Craddieth of Houston, TX. He also leaves to cherish many nieces, nephews, cousins, masonic brothers, other relatives and friends.
