Bro. Johnny Sloughter was born November 4, 1932 to the late Florida Tripplett and the late Johnny Sloughter.

He departed this life on October 2, 2024 at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon MS. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amanda C. Slaughter; his son, Bobby Joe Slaughter; and his sister, Hattie Arby.

He leaves to cherish his memories: five children, Diane (Willie) Hardin of Louisville, MS, Helen Slaughter, Johnny (Laura) Slaughter, Jr., Mary Slaughter and Kendrick Slaughter of Macon MS; three sisters, Josie Mae Clark of Chicago IL; Annie Slaughter and Nancy Slaughter both from Washington D.C.; one brother, Willie C. Slaughter of Sandusky, Ohio; 18 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; two special nurses, Karima Mitchell and Stephanie Brandy of Macon, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
