Joseph Antwon Anthony, lovingly known as Buddy, who left this world on March 24, 2025. Born on August 2, 1984, in Starkville, Mississippi, Buddy was the cherished son of Ronald Anthony, Sr. and the late Fannie Mae Brewer.
A proud graduate of West Lowndes High School, Class of 2004, Buddy was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He found fulfillment in his roles at Baldor Electric and Chrome Deposit, where he was not only a valued employee but also a source of joy and positivity for his colleagues.
Buddy was a man of many passions. He found peace and happiness in the great outdoors, whether he was fishing in tranquil waters or tending to beautifying his lawn. His skills in carpentry and masonry reflected his creativity and craftsmanship, while his talent for barbecuing brought family and friends together for unforgettable gatherings filled with laughter and love. Buddy had a remarkable ability to light up any room with his infectious smile and warm spirit, making everyone around him feel valued and appreciated.
A devoted member of Oakland M.B. Church, Buddy's faith was a guiding force in his life. He was deeply committed to his community and always ready to lend a helping hand, embodying the true essence of kindness and generosity.
He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Fannie Mae Brewer, who will be waiting for him with open arms.
"Buddy" is survived by his wife, Shamik Jackson-Anthony; his father, Ronald James Anthony, Sr.; his children, Joseph Anthony, Jr., Kameron Anthony, Shalisa Anthony, Makenzie Anthony, Brielle Jackson, Kenleigh Jackson-Anthony, and Brayden Jackson-Anthony; his step- children, Rylei Lockett and Jeremiah Jackson; his siblings: Ronald (Catrina) Anthony, Jr., Jessica Anthony, Jasmine Deloach, and Jeniya Edwards; and a host of other family and friends who will forever cherish his memories.
