Josie May Hill departed this life on December 28, 2022, in Starkville, MS. Born Josie May Brewer on October 17, 1954, in Columbus, MS to Jennie Williams and Joe Brewer Sr.
She confessed hope in Christ at an early age, where she was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She attended Stephen D. Lee High School where she was a member of the school choir. She worked as a custodian for many years for the Columbus Municipal School District and Aurora Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bennie Hill; stepmom, Nettie Irions Brewer; and sister, Minnie Hodges.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two children, Dion Brewer of Amory, MS and Sonya Wall of Starkville, MS; five siblings, two sisters Mary Lee Brewer of Columbus, MS and JoAnn Brewer of Greenville, NC; three brothers Alvin Malone of Kennesaw, GA, Ronald Brewer of Memphis, TN, and Joe Brewer Jr. of Gulf Breeze, FL; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren whom she loved dearly; several nieces and nephews; a host of family and friends; a special friend, Mr. Walter McMath.
