Ms. Karen Dewanna Harris was born on April 1, 1958 in Columbus, MS to the late Henderson and Ethel Harris.
She departed this life on Friday, November 4, 2022. At an early age she gave her life to Christ. She was a graduate of Caldwell High School and attended MUW.
She was an active member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a Sunday School Teacher, member of the Usher Board, and Missionary until she became ill.
She was employed at First United Methodist Church in childcare for many years. She was a 27 year breast cancer survivor and she loved participating in all the Relay for Life Events.
She was preceded in death by her parents Henderson and Ethel Harris; siblings, Louiseanner (Charlie) Hughes, Jessie J. Harris, James E. Harris, Henderson Harris, Jr., Marshall Harris, and Collins Roosevelt Harris.
She leaves to cherish her memories, children Jennifer Harris of Columbus, MS and Mareio (Kerin) Harris of Flowood, MS; grandchildren, Darius Harris, Jeremiah Harris, Dylan Harris, and Daniel Harris; great grandchild Londyn Harris; Siblings, Ollie (Annie W.) Harris, Margaret Harris, McArthur (Martha Nell) Harris, Woodrow Harris, Arthur W. (Pattie) Harris, Rose Ann (Eddie) Turner all of Columbus, MS; sisters-in-law, Annie Rea Harris, Patricia Harris all of Columbus, MS; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
